Biography

Geoffrey Loff

Geoffrey Loff has a distinguished and varied career as a conductor and pianist. In the fall of 2022, Geoffrey joined Staatsoper Unter den Linden as full-time music staff, and San Francisco Opera as guest cover conductor. A 2023 U.S. Solti Conducting Grant recipient, most recently Geoffrey received 2nd prize in the Blue Danube Opera Conducting Competition. 

He made his concert debut at age 13 and has performed as a soloist for the Chopin Foundation and the International Miami Piano Festival. As a collaborative pianist, he has been a frequent performer for the Mainly Mozart Festival and the Chopin Foundation. Highlights include: Music Director for Atlanta Opera’s outreach program, young artist and assistant conductor for Opera North, resident artist for Minnesota Opera and assistant conductor at Houston Grand Opera  and Music Director of HGOco. Geoffrey most recently made his conducting debut with Opera San José, Gulfshore Opera, and Sarasota Opera, where he stepped in to conduct Rossini’s Il Signor Bruschino. He has been staff pianist and assistant conductor with Skylark Opera, Mill City Opera and Des Moines Metro Opera. Mr. Loff has been a fellow in the Conductors Institute of South Carolina, International Conducting Workshop Festival and most recently a conducting fellow in the prestigious Aspen Conducting Academy.
